Hispanic and Latino Behavioral Health: Clinical Applications of Cultural Elements
The Great Lakes A/MH/PTTC is offering this training for individuals working in HHS Region 5: IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, WI. This training is being provided in response to a need identified by Region 5 stakeholders.

DESCRIPTION
The Great Lakes ATTC offers this training for behavioral health professionals in HHS Region 5: IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, and WI. This two-part training presents the clinical applications of cultural elements in treating Latinx with substance use and mental health disorders. The presentation is informed by current research findings on how cultural factors influence the therapeutic relationship and the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will be able to:
1. Apply culturally-centered interventions when working with Hispanic and Latino individuals.
2. Discuss and demonstrate the use of eight areas of culturally-centered interventions.
3. Identify specific elements of the Hispanic and Latino population that may need special attention.
This training was prepared by the National Hispanic and Latino Mental Health Technology Transfer Center.
