Lake Talks: Place, identity and the Great Lakes region: A conversation with poet Moheb Soliman
This conversation-style Lake Talk features poet Moheb Soliman, who hails from Egypt and the Midwest. His collection of poems, HOMES, was released by Coffee House Press in 2021.

The book's name alludes to an acronym used to remember the names of the Great Lakes: Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. Yet is has other layers of meaning as well, as Soliman's writing offers an intimate perspective on an immigrant experience as he drives his Corolla past exquisite vistas and abandoned mines, through tourist towns and Midwestern suburbs, seeking to inhabit an entire region as home.

He'll speak in conversation with Anne Moser, senior special librarian of the Wisconsin Water Library and education coordinator of Wisconsin Sea Grant.
